I always have comments - and this is bang on. The human brain seems wired to do the least work possible, its one of the reasons I jettisoned the non-thinking forms of social media (Facebook and Twitter) back in 2008.
People are indeed 'nodes' as you said, and whilst it's fine to receive a barrage of FarmVille requests and pointless inferences about no fish begins with S and ends with P (to which I'd point at the Slender-tail hap and say 'what about this bastard fish') - there's a worrying amount of ill-conceived political node work. What's worse is that it's both sides of the political spectrum and those hijacked by echo chamber ideology seem incapable of recognising that fact.
One of the reasons I write on here is to try and shake people out of being nodes - but there are plenty of people who show up and clap things they agree with. I have feelings and opinions and most of the time my feelings aren't relevant. Feelings are what power nodes. :o)
