I am not a parent indeed - and you're bang on here. I think play is more important than this - I think play is an outlet for creative expression.... but that creative expression has to have something to express and that requries thought.

ComicCon form of playing seems to me the equivalent of a gaudy gameshow when compared with a decent TV drama. It doesn't say anything. It might be fun, but it's not ultimately fulfilling in any meaningful way and if anything acts as an emotional distraction from real self analysis.

But your rebuttal is well crafted and I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who will agree with you :o)
