I am often mistaken for a Conservative by those who have forgotten what liberal means.... there is so little space for discussion at the sharp end of progressivism that the left is in danger of vanishing into its own morality backside.

And yes, you might think some of the comments are terrible and full of idiots... but they likely think the same of your comment. The Penguin way is to write in the middle ground so everyone comes here - then there's a genuine exchange of information and thoughts. There aren't many places on Medium where Trans-readers and Conservatives will come and put forward their genuine thoughts - mostly social media puts people into echo chambers.

With that in mind, read those comments again, but do it again without your amygdala engaged, look at them with curiosity and encourage them to do the same with your view.. My wall is respectful (mostly), I've only had to fire the snarktillery at one reader for coming in hard and fast as a trans-advocate without consideration for anyone else's worldview or understanding of what this article is for. :o)
