I am slightly less inclined to believe that Gen Z will save Americans. They do have a heart scepticism for spotting 'fake news' - but that generally only applies to the opposite side, they aren't great at critical thinking on their own side. That is perhaps an unfair generalisation across the board - but generally I have found most Gen-Z debaters to retreat into emotion laden platitudes and lashing out at the first sign of a debate.
They seem to automatically sign off.... "I won't waste my time talking to you any further, and i won't be responding" - which, if you ask me, bodes pretty badly for democracy. I can see them throwing their toys out of the pram, I can't see them having the skillset to put another pram back together.
