I call them menogogues. I’ve written about them and femagogues in an upcoming article. I essentially conclude (spoilers) that menagogues are more readily successful as they offer a hierarchical model of success and they are more explicit. See Andrew Tate. Femagogues are more subtle and build consensus by social pressure, more egalitarian and more tempted to roll their eyes and dismiss. They are a safe space for women to be - but like all safe spaces they do often turn into echo chambers .

For evidence, do a search for feminism and men’s rights in a search bar on this platform. There are plenty of femagogues writing here - many of who have built large audiences out of offering the odd swipe at men for not getting it. They aren’t angry, they aren’t ranting. They aren’t Tate… but they’re slowly bubbling into echo chambers that will lead to a similar place. Pay attention to who comments and what those comments add to the discussion - often it is nothing at all, just an endorsement of a tubthumping position.

When you find men’s rights folks on this platform. I’ve seen maybe… two? They are lone wolf writers, they do not have huge support, they don’t have boosted publications or even many followers. Medium is a place where Tate can’t thrive but that doesn’t mean there aren’t hidden dangers in other forms of groupthink.
