The author is a favourite of mine, I like her style and she's built quite a following, but I think this piece encapsulates what I mean. Everything about it is reasonable, its tone, it's general approach, the ideas it puts forward - it just isn't rooted in feminism. My comment is a rebuttal of the flaw in her argument - but the supporting comments seem to have overlooked this point because a) they support the general premise.... whilst the detracting commenters are just angry that she's a woman. I don't think either position is helpful; but Yael doesn't mind polite pushback. She's in the minority within a group writing this sort of thing to wild applause.
