I can't remember if I left it in the article, or whether it was cut for time - but I did have some comments about Çatalhöyük and perhaps it not being quite the fun place you portray in the article. https://www.sci.news/archaeology/catalhoyuk-urban-problems-07300.html

In a sample of 93 skulls from Çatalhöyük, more than one-fourth — 25 individuals — showed evidence of healed fractures. And 12 of them had been victimized more than once, with two to five injuries over a period of time. The shape of the lesions suggested that blows to the head from hard, round objects caused them — and clay balls of the right size and shape were also found at the site. More than half of the victims were women (13 women, 10 men). And most of the injuries were on the top or back of their heads, suggesting the victims were not facing their assailants when struck.

I think you've overegged the utopia pudding and the dynamics of Çatalhöyük were perhaps a little more complicated than you suggest in the article. And yeah, I do wish patriarchy had moved quicker towards equity in gender, class, wealth and all those things - but as I've said in my article, it's getting there now. By the nature of what it is, Patriarchy shouldn't throw up the Birkenhead Drill and it shouldn't throw up Feminism - but it has. Better late than never.
