I didn’t say better, I said more electable - because what you consider to be racism and economy wrecking is not a view shared by about half your country. It certainly is racist to have a ‘Muslim ban’ or ‘build a wall’ but that’s what a lot of people wanted…. I’d suggest this means either half your country is racist or worried about immigration enough to let the racism slide.

This wasn’t a piece about who was the better President- it was a piece about the trends and the audiences of the two side-by-side. Biden is a better politician but Trump didn’t run as a politician, he ran as a business man and behaved unconventionally. That may have been a factor in his rise to the White House.

Ultimately, I think the Republicans will be back, for the reasons I’ve outlined. I don’t think it’ll be Donald but I think it’ll be someone Donald adjacent and if Democrats don’t adapt and consider what’s going wrong, the election of that person (I think Ivanka) will come as a shock comparable to 2016.
