And yes, script consultancy is the way to go - I've worked with plenty over the last five years or so in my capacity as a scriptwriter. Alas, the entire industry is now filling up with knee-jerk reactionaries insisting that if you want to write X you must first have some lived experience of Y. It's why theatre and TV are rapidly turning into a giant didactic and unwatchable mess.

I blame the 'representational activists' - mostly middle class white folk with a label, people who have monetised opinions and guilt. Seems like a great way to say 'projection' but turn it into a job title.
