I disagree with quotas on principle, but that is primarily for situations where the only reasonable quality one should be looking at is talent or skill. You have to work to create a situation where those are the only factors and all other biases are removed - not engineer a reverse bias and call it progress. You’ll end up with every group demanding equal representation on pain of social media rage sulk until your application process is unworkable.

Having said that, I don’t know what talent one requires for Big Brother, so I’m not sure how you go about selecting people. I would imagine anyone who wants to be on reality TV should be immediately disqualified - which is pretty much the way I feel about politics too.

I don’t know what the answer is for reality TV, but I do know quotas should stay away from works of creative endeavour in the arts world. :o)
