I disagree with Tim, and I do so often… and I’ve found him very pleasant to disagree with. That’s not always the case with people who write on this platform. He has his belief structures and he argues them - but he is open to debate and I think that’s healthy.

My only real gripe with social justice writers on this platform is when they get jammed into broadcast mode. If they can avoid this they form part of a conversation that others can read and can make their own judgments about. I think (for some people at least) self flagellation is a necessary mode of self-discovery, or at least part of the journey towards self understanding…. But it’s not the be all and end all. Sadly, it seems to be where a lot of people stop their questioning.
