I do chat about the Holocaust. I do chat about rape. I do chat about Police brutality, these are things worth conversing about - because if you take a didactic approach to such issues then you'll turn people off. I have an article coming out fairly soon about the problematic nature of 'competition' when we're talking about ideological suffering.

Again. You may not like the style of it... but I talk about the Holocaust via Anne Frank and I'll hopefully introduce a whole bunch of readers to Harriet Jacobs and her story. The piece does also touch on Junko Furuta and so is also tangentially about police ineffectiveness, rape and brutality. So yes, I do 'chat' about these things - because that's how you engage people, it's how you engage readers and how you work your way towards solving some of the underlying issues that are in place. If you think the solution to racism is yelling 'You're all white supremacists!!' at white people and expecting change, I politely dissent, identity politics based on shame won't work. Here's an article I wrote last year explaining why. https://medium.com/p/397dcb896d5b

Don't mistake style for substance. If you think I'm some sort of chat show idiot - then come and give me the information I'm missing. Come and refute the work... because at the moment you're not doing that, you're chucking in the occasional ad-hominem (and admittedly funny quip about Romans) and then telling me I'm too stupid to understand the information you're refusing to give me.
