I do think you have more of a right-wing authoritarian problem than we do over here. We just don't have the zeal for it - we exported all our most puritanical religious people out of Plymouth in the 1600s and were delighted when they managed (against the odds) to land in a place called Plymouth and never come back.

You don't seem to have much of an opposition to right wing politicians either. Pretty much everyone in US politics is somewhere in the blue box. Bernie Sanders is pretty much the only genuine socialist you have and he hasn't got a hope in hell of being elected. When all your politics is in the blue box, you don't stand much of a chance of doing anything other than building a voter base of middle-class people who feel increasingly disenfranchised. I'm intrigued to see where it ends.
