Broadly I would say your arguments are fine. But I’m also going to say they’ve offended me and they’re racist. Now what?

If it is always the receiver of a comment who gets to decide whether something is racist then we must presume they act in good faith. That isn’t always the case - there is objectivity to counter ridiculous power games.

Secondly, where does this leave any discussions between people of the same race who disagree? See Steve QJ’s work vs Allison Wiltz. Is it possible for them to be racist to each other? Is it possible to say something that is Schrödinger’s offensive? Waiting until one of them steps up to decide.

These are just some of the reasons I think you’re wrong, but remember to careful how you handle my response, you might or might not be guilty of racism by your own design. :o)
