I don't know what the left thought would happen if they made young men the catch-all villains in a societal narrative, but they should've predicted young men would find someone with more enticing messaging than 'you're all shit predators and the patriarchy is your fault'. It may be too late to get some of these boys back into the fold because the brain-rot is too strong. There has been very little inclusivity around feminism for a long while, which is why I prefer the term 'gender egalitarian'. I (and others) have been flagging the conflation of misandry and feminism in the wake of #MeToo was going to lead to a backlash in the fullness of time.

Bro culture is the backlash.

Here's me giving this exact warning in August 2022.

"I don't think for a second Tate has THE answer, but I think he has AN answer - and that's dangerous, because unless some alternatives are provided (aside from shouting at men for the amusement of other women) - it's only going to get worse. The boys are broken. Suicide is up. School shootings are up. The kids are not okay and social media is a big part of that. Tate is giving young men the guidance they want to hear not what they need to hear. He’s telling them they’re wanted, that they’re meaningful, that they can be successful. No such messages flowing out of the popular woke-af-feminist movement. It offers very little in the way of guidance for men about how to navigate in an ever changing world and if men seek to clarify, they’re often shouted down. We need moderates more than ever. We need debate. We need centrists who can hold their own in the face of endless accusation of foul play from both sides. Let’s put a call out for those who won’t say what’s popular or expedient but who are prepared to solve the problem."

The result of writing this article? A complaint went in about me and I was sent a warning by Medium. There's only so many times you can put your head above the collective parapet and get shot at before you start thinking 'maybe the US Democratic left had this one coming?'

For more on this, look at the comments in this thread, for the most part they're just the equal but opposite to the Bro - but under the impression they're somehow more enlightened. It's like nobody can think outside of their own genital and political echo chamber. That's what is 'dumb as hell'.

One of the many and varied reasons I've been a Penguin since 2020.
