I don't know what you think my argument is - but I broadly agree with that. Broadly. You seem to think I'm sort of die-hard Trump supporter, I'm not. I think if the Democrats had game-planned this properly and Biden had stepped down earlier that Harris MIGHT have been able to bring the left back to the centre.
Trump plays identity politics better than the left - he just does. He's better at it because he doesn't really care all that much. He can speak to whatever facet of identity an individual needs to be spoken to. In young Latino voters it was 'work ethic', in young black voters it was 'the democrats think you're useless', in white women it was 'they're coming after your mothers and sons'. Trump is very very very good at playing off identity and I've been warning people against it for a long time.
