I don't like the requirement of personal expertise, it seriously cuts into the really good opinion writers we have on Medium. You can have opinions on things by researching and thinking out loud, knowing they're not going to be boosted - or shown to as many people as previously viewed them is causing me to cut back on the amount of time I write argumentative pieces, we'll be seeing a lot more echo chambers as a result. :o/
