I don't think he did - I think you've got your views coloured by not liking him as a person. Many of his early lectures are about stories and archetypes due to evolutionary psychology. I'm sure he's read about the indigenous stories, compared them with bible stories, compared them with fairy stories and applied it through the prism of Jungian Psychology - but that's his job. Or it was his job before he became the darling of the right. :o)
