I don't think you can say 'identity politics is 100% on the right' in one sentence then launch into a tirade about 'us', 'black people' and refer to me as sounding like 'an old white man using right wing talking points' without acknowledging that you're centering the discussion around race. Race is a facet of identity politics. The left and the right both play into it - and the left has always come off worse.

I don't defend what is being 'done to you' - I look for global solutions that allow people to co-exist in a democratic liberal democracy. You don't have to like white people and they don't have to like you - but the arguments must be based around changes to law and not around skin colour rhetoric.

Of course the working class want solidarity with wealth - because in a capitalist system the main oppressor is a lack of money. If the right are able to court those feelings to their advantage then that'll work for them.... however between 2008 and 2016 there was a democrat black President. He passed ACA against a backdrop of sabotage and brought a genuinely socialist agenda. He didn't do it for black people, gay people, single mothers or muslims. He did it to help bring people out of poverty. He did that in 2010 and he was re-elected in 2012.

I do not insist existing in your bodies is the problem - I am saying your line of thought and argument will not work in the real world of politics - and furthermore, pursuance of it as a strategy will likely work out to be more damaging for minority groups than sticking with the Obama agenda of socialism.

You don't have support people who wish you dead - but you do have to presume in a country that has elected a democratic president and that allows you to run a successful business and talk openly on the internet about how much you dislike old white men, that perhaps there aren't as many people who want you dead as you think. I have no doubt there are folks that you want you dead based on the colour of your skin, but there are folks who want me dead based on my genitals and based on the country of my birth. Those people are in the minority.

What Trump proved is what Brexit proved here - that there are racist undertones in society and much of that resentment comes from poverty, or that poverty is a barrier to education away from racist thoughts in some way. Giving people the breathing space to draw different conclusions is how you solve a problem like racism - it's a shame Obama was so heavily hampered and a shame Biden has tried to play into the identity arguments more than he should've done. It's invigorated the right and made things more dangerous.
