I have also dated an influencer, though it sounds like yours was a bigger influencer than mine. Mine had a similar approach and I was discarded fairly quickly and brutally once they were done with me. The need for adoration comes from complex reasons linked to narcissism (which they were diagnosed with after they met me) and influencer is an ideal job for a person who lacks a true sense of self. I was introduced to other influencers as well and found them all to be similarly troubled, vapid and strange. I feel sorry for my ex these days, I do not live like that and it must be crushing on a day-to-day basis, although they show up periodically to try and draw me back into their life by generating chaos, I am able to continue to grey-rock and do damage limitation. I remain very wary and sceptical of anyone who is an 'influencer'.
