I have also read Indi.ca's essays on the subject - and I find them to be problematic and poorly thought through. The issue here is essentially that most people are only choosing to read one side of the argument - you have highlighted that exact position by not engaging with any of the stuff I pointed out.

I am not Israeli, nor Jewish, nor do I particularly care for the right wing position that some of the Israeli's have taken here. I'm a left-leaning liberal. However, being a left-leaning liberal comes with certain responsibilities. It comes with a responsibility to be both curious and informed.

You have accused me of not making any points - I did exactly that in the last thread. I have pointed out that there are inherent problems in the confusion between the Gaza civilian population and the radical extremist caliphate that Hamas currently is, I have pointed you towards the UN position on the Hamas charter.... and your current position is 'some Sri Lankan guy spouting off in a largely anti-colonial echo chamber s better informed than you are' - if you aren't prepared to read anything but things you already think then I don't know how to engage with you. You've got an ideology in place of cognitive function.

So, for the record.... I do not support mass slaughter, I have largely eschewed the news coming out of either side in favour of reading I did a few years ago. So I'm not going to support Israel but nor am I going to support the position of Hamas. You, and indeed Indi.ca who says he outright supports Hamas (his words not mine) are playing with theoretical fire. I hope you don't get burned, I can't promise you won't. Indi.ca isn't brave, he's a demagogue, he says what is expedient and simple under the guise of 'speaking truth' and he relies on those who already think along the same lines not to question anything he says.
