I have been there. I would recommend not thinking about it as a published piece, rather a comment to nobody in particular. Don't worry about the stats and don't worry about what anyone think or replying to the comments. Writing on Medium doesn't have to be perfect, god knows your comments are better written than many of the articles I read. If I'm the 4th or 5th person to say this, it would appear that there's a pattern here.

Most writers are secretly perfectionsts, locked into binary thought versions that are either 'perfect' or 'rubbish' as well as slightly neophobic. We are not a group of people who cope well with new things - that's why the early adopters of Medium aren't really writers, they're business people who can write, the distinction is important.

it took me 8 years to agree to send my first draft of a script out from my hard drive - and now I'm a published playwright. The work I sent out wasn't perfect and it still makes me cringe that I sent it out in the way that I did, but it was good enough to win a new writing competition, to get an agent and some skin in the game.

You never know what might come of your published stuff on Medium. It can be a good little side earner at times, but also open up opportunties and conversations with other people who share your field of work and/or interests. I can assure you nothing exciting can come of keeping all these glorious nuggets of information to yourself. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by publishing an article or two. Once you've got one under your belt, you'll feel far better about publishing more. Think like a pioneer and set out into the writing wilderness!
