I have long argued for a separate court system with specialist judges, specialists lawyers, more regulation of cross examination standards and fast tracked cases independent of the main body of criminal law courts.
I have also argued such courts should be closed, with the names of both defendants and plaintiffs banned from publication in the media or social media under contempt laws.
If, after a trial, the accused is found guilty, the name should be released to the press - and any subsequent charges arising from this can then be tried in normal courts (if there are multiple victims) - if the accused is found to be not-guilty then any attempt to continue to publicly acuse via social media or in the press should be treated as harassment. Ideally, whatever the outcome, there should be a quick intervention by the law to settle the matter.
This seems to me to be the fairest system I can conceive. I get very irate when the push from feminists becomes about 'name and shame' - because I've always said this will engender a backlash, now that backlash is happening and everybody seems to be surprised and yelling 'the patriarchy' at the top of their voices.
It's infuriating.
