I have seen the maps, and I’m aware of the history. Many of those ‘land grabs’ have been as a result of winning a defensive war. When Israel did hand back a chunk of land after the Oslo Accords, it led to a rise in rocket attacks. Back then y’see the Hamas charter was about the annihilation of the Jews, the more recent charter feels a little less aggressive (but not by much)

Anyhoo, with rising death counts of Israeli citizens after the Accords the softer political left was drummed out, Rabine was assassinated by the far right and the buffer zones put back. Hamas has been elected into government since then, their millionaire leaders live in Qatar and they have benefited hugely from a political left wing who didn’t bother to read the history.

I have no doubt if the pre 1967 borders were established (they have been offered and rejected a few times) that Hamas would see it as a tactical advantage in trying to exterminate the Jewish population. From the river to the sea etc. At that point, all the enlightened lefties would be outraged that Hamas was now murdering the gays and subjugating the women….

And you may want to ask yourself. Why the USA doesn’t want to hand the Baltic states or Ukraine back to Russia. Same problem, different lens.
