I love a good flounce.... I was once pulled up by an American for using 'whilst' instead of 'while' because it is apparently a word only use by those people who are pretending to be more literate than they are.... after I finished laughing I told the reader that 'whilst' was perfectly normal over here. Perhaps we're simply more literate than them there over that there ocean.
