I met a girl from New Orleans the other day at a poker game here in London. She was very cool. US born and bred but with Pakistani heritage - she played blues harmonica, had awesome tattoos and worked in a bar to cover her PhD costs. She was exactly the level of chill I thought Louisiana would have all wrapped up in a single person. I love not being disappointed. There does seem something very mellow about Louisiana when you read the history - I'm guessing it's the French influence?

One day we'll do an exchange trip, I've got much US history to learn and you should come before the Queen pops her clogs. See everything before the psychological decline of our nation begins in earnest. :o/
