I reckon a few decades of social work advocacy with looked after children and those sectioned under the mental health act is the answer to that question - both disproportionately affecting Black communities (at least here in the U.K.). I’ve also taught playwriting to inner city schools for the last five years, helping kids tell their stories. That and elements of consultancy about how to enact change at grassroots level by speaking directly to people and empowering them to lobby at the appropriate level. I once got an national award for putting together training that children at the edge of care delivered to adults….
So that.
And I still think Twitter is drivel. Don’t mistake my anti-identity politics for faux-liberalism and champagne socialism.
