I reckon we're getting to the end of this little head to head and I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. I suppose it depends on how much daylight you see between ;you're fired because you told a joke I don't like" and "you're fired because you're a credible physical threat to our X members of staff". For you, that's plenty of daylight and so we should treat those two as very different things.

I can see that daylight diminishing as the insane members of our society quibble over the words 'physical harm', 'credible threat' and 'joke'. People are already equating words with physical harm, offhand comments with 'credible threat' and jokes with 'hate crimes'. I see the daylight of rational sanity diminishing very quickly and I just don't trust the perpetually batshit with anything. Thus my aversion to anything where subjectivity is involved.

You'll be pleased to know that your subjectivity is fine. It's the other 7.2 billion idiots I'm worried about. :o)
