I see your argument and I disagree, for this to be true there would need to be some introspection and culpability. The average psychopath has neither the capacity nor the inclination for this. Mike Hoare was likely one of these people, dying aged 100 or so in a nursing home. Saville meanwhile had a what amounted to a mini state funeral in Leeds, was never held accountable for any of the grotesque crimes he committed and lived life as a millionaire with carte blanche to abuse others whenever he felt like it. I don’t suspect either of these men tortured themselves as I don’t think either was capable of doing so.
