I see your argument but think it would be a massive misstep for the MCU to start writing about race. Unless it’s an integral part of the story, it’ll feel like preaching or heavy handed. Either way it’ll get slammed and turn viewers off.

Surely a better option is to tell a story with a Black superhero and not mention it at all….. because it shouldn’t be a thing that needs mentioning. It should just be. When nobody is passing comment on the skin colour of the fictional people who inhabit our collective creative consciousness…. that will be equality. Neither racism or anti-racism is going to get us to that point – because both make skin colour the determining factor we all talk about.

And it shouldn’t be. The guy is Captain America, we should be talking about the shield. :o)
