I speak to women all the time, i also may be one (see my pinned story) - my issue with this sort of thing is essentially that most women and most men are rubbing along together quite well. There are a small (but not insubstantial) amount of women and men, who consistently write these sorts of articles - as though this is what all women think about all of the time.

The problem is that it doesn’t really alleviate the issue at hand, it stokes distrust and makes the gender sky fall down on all our heads. Men who need to read the bear analogy won’t read it, moderates already get it, and it acts as a Kafka trap. Anyone who points out the overall hyperbole gets slammed with ‘not learning and be better’.

I wrote about this sort of writing before. I call it femagoguery. Plenty of high fives and girl power, no actual strategy for change. Short term win, long term just making the movement look ridiculously echo chambery.
