I suspect what the political left have to do is learn to understand themselves first. There's so much chaotic discord that until we sort ourselves out we aren't going to make much sense to anyone outside the bubble.
The loudest lefts tend to be the lefts least able to conceptualise compromise, they're the ones least able to bring about the changes they want and they're the ones that consistently fail to get their shit together to help the poor and the needy.
I was in the pub yesterday with a trade unionist and a Labour councillor and their view on Labour getting elected is that they've first got to beat their own party before they can even begin to think about beating the Conservatives.... which given the shitshow the current government is in, and the inability of Labour to even get close to power, is a very accurate assessment indeed.
