I suspect you are correct about the autism diagnosis. I primarily worked with children in the care system and this would throw up a whole bunch of kids who have additional needs and who are likely to be scrutinised more closely by a wider variety of professionals. For kids outside this process, I would imagine autism is missed plenty of times in young women.

It's always good when dealing with mental health to read about all the different things that could be potentially happening. Nothing bad ever came from reading more widely. You'll probably enjoy finding out about splitting and other such things. If nothing else it will inform your writing process and make you less likely to delete perfectly awesome essays and comments.

George Carlin was a man way ahead of his time. I often wish he was still alive - he would be wading into modern social discourse and batting idiots aside like a total pro.
