I switched off from Feminism after a few conversations with some friends. One I outlined in my Kafka Trap article - where an activist insisted men who were against feminism were the worst people in the world - but those men who showed their feminist credentials weren't to be trusted. This is linguistic shamfuckery of the highest order and betrayed her real motivations - dominating men during power games.

I would argue that most people in the democratic west don't really have a problem with the main thrust of feminism - this is what we should be globally focusing on. As I tried to explain to an ex-Muslim friend of mine, currently trying to take down the religious patriarchy with bikini pics and 'being an ambassador' on Instagram - you can't replace the Patriarchy with the Vagina-Patriarchy. It's the same thing and will be rejected as such. When I pointed out that a significant amount of her income (coming from a fashion brand sponsorship on Instagram) was linked to poor working conditions for young women in the North of England she didn't want to know.

These problems are complicated and multi-faceted. Post structuralism and identity politics provides meaningless platitudes when faced with an insurmountable Tsunami of complexity. It just trots out the same basic flawed concepts as though repeating them enough will magically resolve the problem.

Great to see you pop up in my feed again. Great work as always.
