I think a lot of younger writers (and I presume you're younger than me) seem to have this problem. I think it's a youth spent viewing your entire online existence through the lens of other people - that's a problem social media has caused but can't solve.

I would say it doesn't matter how careful you are with your writing, Wittgenstein's Beetle experiment will tell you why. The only thing you're really responsible for is your own feelings. Write articles for yourself and then invite others to read your thoughts.

People get offended by all sorts of crazy things and they fixate on the bits of your writing that resonate strongly with them. Given you can't control your audience (this isn't a safe space) then your best bet is not to second guess their feelings. Instead create your own safe space around your writing and enjoy yourself. There are plenty of people like me who are appreciative of good writing and near impossible to offend. So stick with it.
