I think future generations will look at Chemotherapy the way we look at bloodletting... things always make sense in your own generation, it's only when it's viewed in the fullness of time that it feels odd.
When I showed my grandmother a lump of flesh on my hand, between my thumb and first finger - she went and fetched a bible. This she informed me, as she whacked the cyst with the book was a tried and tested cure that worked all through the 1930s, 40s and 50s.
