I think I disagree - and I'll articulate why. The images I tend to use are quite specific (because of my overactive imagination) and AI generation is the easiest way to get what I want. However, I am not taking these images to a place where I am trying to pass them off as images I have created and to sell them on for monetary gain to other people.
Now, there might be a place on the internet where people go and use AI text generation that is appropriate to their needs. I could, if I wanted, offer my services to write you a CV or a cover letter. I have written CVs, cover letters, and letters of complaint for friends and family in the past. However, it's much more likely you'll get AI to do it, because a) it's cheaper and b) it's easier to get what you want. I don't have a problem with this, technology and all that jazz.
I do have a problem if people are attempting to pass off AI generated stuff as anything other than what it is. If you've got people winning photography competitions, or having entire artistic careers off the back of a total lack of creativity then I think we have a problem. We cannot and should not flood the world with fake creativity pretending it's anything other than that.
Perhaps that is a little 'having my cake and eating it too' and perhaps you're right about this - but as you can see from the words under my picture. I'm not trying to fool anyone about what this is or where it came from.
