I think if you successfully plant the nuances of law into the youth of today - and you’re clear about it, then we’d see conviction rates rise. As I said in another comment, I’d rather see young women benefit psychologically from seeing a ‘grey area rapist’ prosecuted for sexual assault than seeing him walk free because cases have collapsed. I don’t think the adversarial court system favours victims in this instance and it’s further trauma that should be carefully mitigated by an understanding of how law and reality collide.
