I think it would be difficult to gaslight from an equal footing or from a place where your power is limited. I think in this instance, power must be all consuming. You must be able to control most if not all messages that go to another person - and you must be able to sustain it. This is why cults and narcissists tend to isolate their victims - without being able to control all inputs, other realities may intrude. I think everyone has the ability to gaslight another human being - I think most of us lack the opportunity, structure or the will to do so.
