I think it would be very interesting to tell a white slave story.... As I wrote in my latest article about the terrors of black mermaids, stories are stories and if we're going to do colourblind casting, then we absolutely should go for it. I think there might be some interesting reactions if white folks were able to see themselves cast in those roles.... who knows, maybe they'll make a Barbary slave story and show the Cornish or Irish raids. :o)
