I think that's a fairly accurate assessment... with one caveat, I'd say the disparity caused by being pro-male and neutral-female is writing dispassionately pro-human but on an unbalanced platform. In the same way people presume I'm right wing on a predominantly left-wing platform because I challenge the received wisdom, I think the same thing is happening here.

On Medium I rarely seem to get any anti-women writing shovelled my way (though plenty of woman-on-woman battles between subsections of women) - and so I challenge the feminist back to the centre more frequently.
