I think the baby might’ve misgendered him first, by forcing it’s way out of the guy’s vagina. I think if you’re able to get over the dysphoria induced by pregnancy, then some misgendering by medical staff who have worked their entire careers with the words ‘mother’ and ‘she’, isn’t an insurmountable emotional hurdle that can’t be overcome.

Why don’t we just celebrate the birth of a new kid without turning it into a points scoring exercise. Man with vagina gets pregnant, goes through probably the most traumatic thing the human body can go through - then announces what really hurt was the cutting indiscretion of underpaid stressed health workers. There’s a fine line between transphobia and the self-generation of entitled bullshit… had he been refused service on the grounds his pregnancy and beard combo upset the hospital staff that’d be discrimination we could do something about.
