I think the main problem with the discourse is that there are white people who have white privilege but not wealth privilege. There are POC who have neither, and there are POC who have wealth privilege (but not white privilege). It is that last group of predominantly middle class people who write about privilege and insist others must do the work to understand the nuances of privilege. Around a year ago I was blocked by a race writer (a very good writer) who insisted upon writing about oppression from a mansion in Europe and listed hang-gliding and globetrotting as her hobbies. Such a lack of introspection whilst being set to broadcast is unpalatable, at least to this Penguin. :o)
