I think there are a group of people who won't understand it and do so willfully out of a disregard for black life.

I think there are a group of people who can't think like this because they lack the theory of mind to be able to do so. There may also be a group of people who lack the lifestyle that permits this level of thought.

I think the first group are a lost cause. I also think they're in the minority.

I think the second group and the third group likely make up a signfiicant percentage of the voting population. There are plenty of people who wouldn't even think to read an article, let alone write one or debate one. They either haven't got the brainpower, or they haven't got the brain-space. Think about the level of relative comfort required to be able to consider this sort of thing.

Those people can be brought out of poverty and helped. Those people may then have the brain space to complete the work that the middle-class white self-flaggelation brigade are doing - but more likely than that, they'll just be happy to be out of poverty that they'll mix in new communities and not blame 'the other' for taking everything from them. It's a dog-eat-dog world at the bottom (I have been in social work) so those people are looking for people to blame.
