I think there's plenty of propaganda on both sides, that doesn't mean I don't question Putin's assertions without considering what they're really all about. The interview is interesting and what AZOV battalion is saying is exactly what it needs to be saying at the moment - and if I'm honest, I absolutely believe their current position.

However, and it's a big however, I've written on this website many times since 201 8 - we should always have an eye on where the world is heading next. If you're going to heavily arm a militia group that emerged from a right leaning organisation - then you need to do due diligence. That's my point really, there doesn't seem to be a lot of due diligence going on here - at least not in the general public. I am not really worried about how many far right politicians there are in the Ukrainian parliament now, the question I want answered is how many far right politicians will there be in the country in five years.

Because a population with a common enemy is one which is ripe to be riled up. I can see Zelensky being blamed for brokering peace (whenever it arrives) and I can see his popular appeal waning over time. I want to be wrong but I'm prepared not to be.

And yes, most fascists are for Putin.... and I suspect that will always be the case. :o)
