I think this is bang on. There are some people either side of the political divide who are capable of having an honest conversation - but those people are rare relative the population overall. I’ve met bad faith debate in many places online, but there’s nothing worse than a faux liberal occupying the moral high ground and ordering your complicity in their world view.
