I think we probably agree on more than you think - we're just both fairly vocal and outspoken when we disagree. That's exactly how a society is supposed to function...even an online community like Medium. On the other hand sometimes hell does freeze over and this makes it better for Penguins - so maybe you just get one agreement per year. ;o)

I really struggle to understand the Conservative Christian disconnect between pro-life and the death penalty..... and why the church in the US seems to be so anti-socialism and pro-condemnation of everything. It seems counter intuitive to argue for the right to life, then also support the right to make that life as diffficult as possible and then prematurely terminate it via the death penalty if the newly minted person turns to a life of crime.... something likely to be greatly exacerabated by being an unwanted child from a low income family. They're solving a problem of their own creation in the most violent and unchristian way possible - and I say that as a committed atheist.

Church over here (some Catholicism aside) seems to be a mostly harmless affair where people go for cake and tolerance - I'm beginning to think we should've vetted The Mayflower a little more carefully....

Look forward to more agreement and disagreement in the future. Keep on keeping on. :o)
