I think you're onto something - but I think Harris is going to have to shift from her cultural base of 'joy' into one of pragmatism if she wants to run the US with any sort of success. I've said elsewhere that I think she's a placeholder for the Democrats but whether or not they can end the culture wars or will lean into them is still to be decided.

I think the US has become culturally split since the late 1960s, Conservatives have doubled down into their religious niche whilst the liberals have pushed forward with their inclusive agenda. Those two cultural groups can rub along most of the time with a sort of entente cordiale but they can't coexist online - not easily at least.
