I think you've got into a classic leftie dispute that's symptomatic of the wider problem. Rather than reaching common ground (that you both disagree with me) you've managed to fall out about who is giving the message correctly. This is pretty much the political left in action all day every day.

The issue with the monarchy is interesting. You know I'm anti-monarchy, but I'm sitting on my hands. I'm not getting het up about Andrew because the British Public don't care. They don't care about the sweaty nonce because although they find the 17 year old stuff morally repugnant, it isn't illegal here (the age of consent is 16), and Andrew has taken a back seat in Royal politics. The argument can't be won for a number of reasons, but largely because we have a lot of internalised misogyny, it was seen as a money grab by an American system on a technicality and the world has bigger nonces and more pressing problems to worry about.

However, it suddenly being brought into common knowledge that Prince Charles and Prince William are making millions from taxing hospitals, schools and charities. I'm all in on that. Economic fairness cuts through the demos like a knife - as your Democratic party should've probably realised some time back in January.

I can be quite acerbic, but as I have always pointed out, you're far more trigger happy on the acerb than I am - even when people only kick back a little bit.
