I think you've hit the nail on the head - and I'm going to be coming out to bat for Whoopi in a bit. 'Race' was the tool by which the Nazis enacted their pernicious world view but the vast majority of the Holocaust was 'white on white' is an objective truth - she may have garbled the message and people may have been offended but as always, the answer to 'I'm offended' is 'so what?'.

I find it somewhat confusing that Jewish people would insist, as Third Act has done, the label of Jewish-race as given to them by the Nazis. To push back at Third Act, and where I think his/her argument is flawed. The Nazis made it about 'race' as they saw it - but that doesn't mean they were right, and shouldn't mean we are compelled to use their definition. It was intolerance about difference, as he/she stated, an ironic position to take given the subsequent sentence is about 'slapping down' someone with a different opinion - and conveniently ignoring the fact Ms Goldberg is both black and identifies as Jewish.

I suspect we've found a subject matter we can agree on at last! :o)
